BOOK 2 SCRIPT

CONCEPTING

The It Girl is a gripping teen thriller that blends the elite drama of Cruel Intentions with the atmospheric intensity of Cruel Summer. Set in the exclusive Waverly Academy, a prestigious boarding school tucked away in the idyllic Hudson Valley, the series follows Jenny Humphrey—a small-town girl who reinvents herself to rise among the elite. But beneath the glittering surface of privilege and power lies a dangerous web of deceit, betrayal, and scandal.

This book series is the perfect choice for a TV adaptation because it blends the timeless allure of elite boarding school drama with the intensity of a psychological thriller. Its rich characters, rooted in ambition, secrets, and betrayal, offer endless opportunities for compelling storytelling. Inspired by the darker tones of Cruel Summer and Euphoria, the show modernizes Cecily von Ziegesar’s beloved series with a fresh, edgy twist, while staying true to the book’s heart. With its mix of glamour, mystery, and high-stakes tension, The It Girl is poised to captivate audiences craving bold, character-driven television.

Midjourney

Using Midjourney, I carefully created matching stills that are inspired by the themes and visuals of the book.
